But Asians are at risk of heart disease and diabetes at much lower levels. WHO had left it to the countries to formulate their own definitions. Now, if your BMI is over 25, you are obese and if between 23 and 24.9, you are overweight. The consensus was reached late last year but only recently published in the Journal of Association of Physicians of India.
