Why Won’t Twitter Tell Me Who I Am?

Sameera Reddy, one of the three luscious Reddy sisters, has a Twitter problem. She asked the Hindustan Times (in the course of an interview) why Twitter would not verify her account. “Twitter is an interactive platform, but I have one complaint of the Twitter management—they have not verified me yet. There are so many celebs, such as Dia Mirza, who have less followers than me, but are still verified. I don’t understand why they are not verifying me.” This is true. Reddy has 55,809 followers, while Mirza has 36,374. It is also true that Twitter verified that Dia Mirza is indeed Dia Mirza, not Diya Mirza (all it takes is five minutes to fill out a form and a little bit of fame). Since verified accounts are like the new iPad, there’s no point in reasoning that with 55,000 followers, she doesn’t need a verified account. So what can she do to emerge from this strange mess? Someone get her Raju Hirani, please.
