Fancy a toothpick over a century old? Well, a toothpick that once belonged to Charles Dickens’ got auctioned off at New York last week for $9,150. The ivory and gold toothpick has the Christmas Carol author’s initials engraved and a retracting mechanism. An authentication letter from sister-in-law Georgina Hogarth says the author used it ‘when travelling and on his last visit to America’ before his death in 1870.
