Recently, a leading newspaper ran a full page ad on its front page. It had a picture of New York’s Arthur Ashe tennis stadium, the main venue of the US Open. The slogan: ‘The US Open comes to India’. The advertisement was for the 46-storey US Open Apartments built by Nirmal Lifestyle, a real estate company, in Mulund, Mumbai.

What is a US Open apartment? “We wanted to create a sports-inspired innovation and hence, initiated a tie-up with the US Open,” says Saurav Shaw of Nirmal Lifestyle. The apartments will have tennis courts, clubhouses and other amenities similar to the US Open. Shaw adds that Nirmal Lifestyle will be promoted during the next US Open. Here’s hoping the next Federer is from Mulund.
