A good many hearts broke in God’s Own Country last Monday. Prithviraj, an upcoming star in Malayalam cinema, suddenly announced he had married. The bride was Supriya Menon, a BBC reporter based in Mumbai. “Just 30 people took part in the ceremony. We decided to keep it completely personal,” Prithwiraj’s mother, actress Mallika Sukumaran,  said after the function at a resort near the bride’s residence in Palakkad. Rumours say the hero fell in love with his wife when she came to interview him for a story on South Indian cinema some years ago.
