A biotech-giant that’s been the maker of Agent Orange, DDT and the BT gene is entrenching itself in the Obama administration. There have been five major Monsanto appointees so far. Sharon Long, a former board member is on the scientific advisory board. The man described as a ‘Monsanto goon’ by eco-activists, also former company VP and attorney, Michael Taylor is ‘biotech governor of the year’. Company lobbyist Islam Siddiqui is US Agricultural Trade Representative. Judge Clarence Thomas, a former Monsanto lawyer, sat in on a trial involving the company, ignoring all conflicts of interest. The most recent appointee is Elena Kagan to the US Supreme Court. In the past she’s defended Monsanto’s GM alfalfa. All these M-people are on board before Obama’s November India visit.
