Trinamool and Congress workers storm the Kolkata zoo after eight Brazilian monkeys get stolen
Caged inmates of the Kolkata zoo got a taste of what hapless citizens have to suffer: wild, slogan-shouting politicians. Reason: the theft of eight rare Brazilian monkeys (common marmosets) from the zoo over the weekend. Trinamool and Congress workers stormed the zoo, planted party flags, shouted slogans against ‘32 years of Left misrule’ and demanded the CM’s resignation. Thankfully, state-level BJP leaders vetoed their workers’ plans of holding a similar demonstration inside the zoo.
