Infosys’ new Global Education Centre at its Mysore campus, called GEC 2, is a mix of Rome’s Colosseum and Indian architecture. Designed by architect Hafeez Contractor, the building boasts a built-up area of 1,002,095 square feet. There are 84 100-seater, three 200-seater, six 60-seater and two 36-seater classrooms. Its belly holds five examination halls, 302 faculty rooms, an induction hall that can seat 400, state-of-the-art library with over 80,000 books, an acoustic conference hall that can accommodate 40, and a cyber café that can seat 236. There are also six badminton courts, four squash courts, pool and snooker parlours, a world-class athletic track and swimming pools. The six food kiosks can seat 1,315 people. About 9,500 freshers can be trained here at a time.
