Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor’s annual card party on Diwali was a classy affair as always, with elegantly decorated card tables groaning under the weight of the cash stakes being played on them. The tradition of hosting Diwali parties goes back 35 years, when the two married. Daughter Ekta looked stunning in a maroon lehenga as she played with her friends, even as Rakesh and Pinky Roshan, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, Hiroo Johar, Randhir Kapoor, Pinky and Sanjay Reddy won and lost their respective games. More than the glitter of the cash, it was Shobha’s diamond necklace that bedazzled everyone, particularly one guest who was overheard saying, “If one of the diamonds falls off Shobha’s necklace, I could buy a swanky apartment.” Did the diamond fall off? Of course not. Guess that must have jarred.
