This Lok Sabha constituency is agog with talk of fake Rs 500 notes distributed by a prominent candidate here.
This Lok Sabha constituency is agog with talk of fake Rs 500 notes distributed by a prominent candidate here.
One of the most formidable candidates in the fray, the candidate claims he provided genuine notes to the agents who were told to pass them on to voters. Though most did as they were told, some actually “backstabbed” him by keeping the original currency notes with themselves and distributing fake ones.
Moreover, as a large number of people found this out well ahead of voting day, the candidate is fretting that it may cost him too dear.
No case was registered against the candidate for violating the code of conduct as it missed the EC’s notice.
A reserved constituency for Scheduled Castes, Samastipur went to the polls in the second phase on 23 April. The prominent candidates here are Ramchandra Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party, Ramsewak Hazari of the Janata Dal United and Ashok Ram of the Congress.
