Was it a bird? Was it a plane? Was it Rahul Gandhi? A Twitter account with the ID ‘RGAmethi’, which was rumoured to be hacked into recently and then deleted, is believed to be Rahul Gandhi’s. The prince has neither confirmed nor denied reports of toying with Twitter.
To those who closely followed his election campaign, it did seem like him, tweeting updates from his endless travelling. RGAmethi even replied to some queries on Twitter, promoted the Youth Congress, recalled U2 songs, urged people to get out and vote. His managers won’t confirm that it was his account, but, curiously, they say the hacking was an RSS con job.
If it really was him, Rahul’s last tweet was, ‘So this account has been hacked, lovely. Someone deleted most of my updates.’ Before this happened, RGAmethi had posted a few updates like, ‘Sorry I haven’t updated in a while, was a bit busy! Thanks for the votes and the support. The election results were quite pleasant :)’ During the election campaign, he had written memorable lines such as: ‘All this travelling makes me want to write a la Bruce Chatwin, or perhaps take up photography properly to document the places I visit, hmm.’ And: ‘Someone told me I’m apparently a fixture on many social networks that I never signed up for. I am confused as to why anyone would do this…’!
