Deandra’s KBC Moment

Being the first to do something guarantees you a permanent place in history.

Being the first to do something guarantees you a permanent place in history. At the World T20 tournament last year, Deandra Dottin of the West Indies became the first woman to score a century in T20 cricket. Not just that, her 38-ball hundred against South Africa is also the fastest T20 century, male or female. Recently, the 19-year-old Dottin was the subject of a question on Kaun Banega Crorepati. From a little known player of a marginal sport to one of the biggest quiz shows in television history was a huge leap for her. Currently, the West Indian women’s team is touring India. Told about KBC, Dottin says, “That’s nice. But I don’t want to get too excited by one innings.”
