And now a laboratory to shape character. Or that’s what Sanjay Nahar of Pune-based NGO Sarhad would have you believe. He has come up with a National Character Laboratory (NCL) where children will get to attend lectures, seminars and conferences on various ideologies and religions. Nahar felt children were getting a skewed and confusing image of national leaders, and the lab’s stated objective is to bring to light facts about what constitutes ‘sound character’. The NCL will have access to books, biographies and videos about the lives of great minds and thinkers.
