Someone is not taking Brittany Murphy’s death lying down. And it happens to be Murphy’s much-maligned husband Simona Monjack. Sources say he is only days away from filing a wrongful death charge against Warner Brothers, claiming that the studio is responsible for the unexpected death of the 32-year-old actress. “They killed her,” he told the American media. Two weeks prior to Murphy’s sudden death on 20 December, the studio fired her from the Happy Feet sequel, in which she was to reprise the role of penguin Gloria. “She was devastated,” Monjack said. Murphy’s cause of death has yet to be released by the coroner’s office, but Simon Monjack says her heart attack was a direct result of the cancelled contract. Brittany starred in films like Roberto Rodriguez’s Sin City, and by some accounts, her screen star was actually on the ascendant at the time of her death.
