Amitabh Bachchan seems to have started it off. Now Bollywood is suddenly concerned about what is happen­ing in Egypt.

It’s the most peculiar thing—this sudden flurry of comments from Bollywood about what is happen­ing in Egypt. Amitabh Bachchan seems to have been the culprit who started it off. Soon after the troubles started, he wrote in his blog about his visits to the country stretching back to 1975 when they shot The Great Gambler in Cairo. Immediately after, there were people like Mahesh Bhatt, Celina Jaitley and Rahul Bose airing their take. Celina’s was quite interesting. The newspaper DNA quoted her: “Egypt is changing... Whatever happens next will impact the future of all Egyptians in a big way.” Let’s just say, no one was startled by that insight.
