The Truth Forensic Laboratory, which checked the Shanti Bhushan CD, has a wide clientele. The director of the New Delhi-based forensic lab, SR Singh, says they field requests from the Government, corporates, courts, and people in general. They verify handwriting, altered documents, stamps, cheques, drafts, fake currency, share certificates, in addition to comparing signatures, processing crime scene fingerprints, and following up on computer crimes. Singh says that since 2007, the lab has worked for over 2,000 clients. The lab has a relatively quick turnaround time—ten days—and customers are charged anywhere from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000.
