Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Diskhit was treated to a pungi orchestra outside her residence by the Delhi Sapera Samaj
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Diskhit was treated to a pungi orchestra outside her residence by the Delhi Sapera Samaj (snake charmers association) this week before being presented with a list of demands. The community, which is facing a survival crisis because of wildlife laws, is demanding that they be included in the Scheduled Tribes category and be issued licences to carry on their trade. The charm seems to have worked. The CM met the protestors and promised to look into their demands.
