After World War II ended, the United States invited many German scientists to come and work for the US government. But several of them could have been war criminals, some of them were even members of the SS (a Nazi organisation), culpable for some of the most heinous crimes committed in human history. Yet, they were brilliant minds and the US gained tremendously from their research, culminating in the moon landing. Was the US government right in granting these scientists amnesty?
