Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid out his vision for a “viksit Bihar”, assuring that Bihar’s youth will not have to leave the state on the lookout for jobs.
“In the coming years, it will be an important part of the industrial corridor and thousands crores will be invested in the state. It’s Modi’s guarantee, write it down. In coming days that Bihar’s youth will work in Bihar and make a name for the state,” he said addressing a rally in Arrah, around two hours from Patna.
This comes two days after the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) released its manifesto promising at least one crore government jobs to the youth of Bihar. Political parties have been competing to offer jobs to Bihar’s youth in the run up to the assembly elections. The manifesto of the Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, pledged a government job for every household. Jan Suraj’s Prashant Kishor has been stressing on ending exodus of Biharis by creating jobs within the state.
Modi said the NDA has presented an honest and visionary manifesto, dedicating the schemes to Bihar’s growth. He took on the Opposition, dubbing it as “jungle Raj alliance” and describing its manifesto as a betrayal. “In the next five years, Bihar will witness a major boost in industrialisation. The state will become a major centre for textiles and tourism in eastern India,” he said.
The NDA manifesto promises to boost industrialisation in the state by assuring construction of factories and 10 new industrial parks in every district, if it comes to power, The promises include at least 100 MSME parks and more than 50,000 cottage enterprises to be built,
Modi, who held back to back rallies in Bhojpur and Nawada districts of the state, before a road show in Patna, said the Congress accepted Tejashwi Yadav as the INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial candidate only after the RJD pointed a “Katta (country made gun)”. "The Congress never wanted to announce the chief ministerial candidate in favour of the RJD. The RJD secured it by placing a 'katta' on the head of the Congress. They have learnt their lessons in the school of 'jungle raj'. Such elements can never do good for Bihar," he said.
Modi said Congress wanted to defeat the RJD in the Bihar polls, saying people just have to wait for the second phase of polling to be over on November 11 "to see them fighting".
