Tanaaz Bhatia, Founder & Managing Director of Bottomline Media Pvt. Ltd. and Bottomline Retail Pvt. Ltd., and an active investor based in Mumbai

Long before she was orchestrating multimilliondollar brand partnerships or introducing global luxury brands to India, Tanaaz Bhatia was running a lending library from her home in Bandra. She was just twelve years old. While most children were reading stories, she was figuring out how to build a business around them.

That entrepreneurial instinct would eventually take her from Wall Street to Bollywood, establishing her as one of the most influential figures in India’s entertainment and luxury ecosystem. A graduate of New York University’s Stern School of Business, Tanaaz began her career in investment banking, working with institutions such as Merrill Lynch, Bear Stearns, and Citibank in New York. By most standards, she was on a highly successful professional path. However, following the loss of her father, she made the life-changing decision to return to Mumbai and build something of her own. In 2010, she founded Bottomline Media.

Without an entertainment background, industry lineage, or a defined roadmap, she relied on her understanding of brands, consumers, and value creation. More importantly, she possessed a rare ability to identify opportunities and create partnerships that delivered results.

Her breakthrough came with Red Chillies Entertainment, where she demonstrated an ability to unlock commercial opportunities others often overlooked. The success of these early collaborations quickly established Bottomline Media as a trusted partner for film studios, celebrities, and brands.

Over the years, the company became associated with some of Bollywood’s most successful films, including Ra.One, Don 2, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Vicky Donor, English Vinglish, Chennai Express, and Happy New Year. Through these projects, Tanaaz helped redefine how brands and entertainment could collaborate to create value and cultural relevance.

Her influence soon extended far beyond cinema.

As India’s luxury and lifestyle sectors evolved, Tanaaz became a trusted gateway for global brands entering the country. Through long-standing relationships and a deep understanding of Indian consumer culture, she helped some of the world’s most prestigious brands establish meaningful relevance in the market.

Brands including Burberry, Michael Kors, Tod’s, Airbnb, Cartier, Mercedes-Maybach, Maserati, Louis Vuitton, Piaget, and Baume & Mercier partnered with Bottomline Media to build visibility and engagement in India.

Her work in luxury hospitality has been equally impactful. Whether helping Jumeirah strengthen its connection with India’s entertainment elite or supporting the launch of One&Only One Za’abeel in Dubai, Tanaaz has consistently demonstrated her ability to create memorable cultural moments. The latter launch, headlined by Jennifer Lopez, attracted significant global attention and reinforced her reputation for executing high-impact partnerships.

Beyond hospitality and luxury, she has built a strong network connecting global artists with premium platforms across India and the Middle East. Artists such as DJ Snake, Dua Lipa, and Ed Sheeran have been part of projects where entertainment, culture, and commerce intersect seamlessly.

What truly distinguishes Tanaaz is her understanding of influence itself. Long before personal branding, creator economies, and celebrity entrepreneurship became mainstream concepts, she recognised that visibility could be transformed into long-term business value. Her career has been built around helping brands, personalities, and businesses convert attention into relevance, impact, and growth.

Today, she is expanding that influence as an investor, backing emerging businesses and founders while continuing to lead Bottomline Media. From Wall Street banker to entertainment entrepreneur, from dealmaker to rainmaker — and the gateway through which global luxury, world-class hospitality and international music have found their most powerful expression in India — Tanaaz Bhatia’s journey reflects the changing face of modern business leadership.

In a world where culture increasingly drives commerce, she has spent fifteen years quietly helping shape both.
