Sushant, before we dive into your journey, could you briefly tell our readers who you are and what you do today?
I’m currently Vice President at eClerx Services Ltd., where I lead pre-sales and solutioning for our financial markets services and drive strategic initiatives. My career path has taken me through roles in investment banking, business development, and transformation at firms like HCL Technologies, Société Générale, Cognizant, and Deutsche Bank.Beyond the corporate sphere, I’m an author of two books—one a bestseller—a visiting faculty member, mentor for MBA students, and currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from SP Jain School of Global Management. At my core, I believe in lifelong learning, storytelling, and empowering others to navigate their journeys with confidence.
Your career spans finance, business development, writing, and mentorship. Who is the real Sushant Rajput behind these roles?
I’d say I’m a curious learner. I’ve never been someone who fits neatly into one label. From computer science to marketing to investment banking, every transition was fueled by curiosity and the desire to grow. Titles don’t define me — intellectual growth does.
Tell us about your books and what inspired them.
My first book, I Wish Someone Told Me This Before My First Job, came from mentoring young professionals. It’s the book I wish I had—practical, honest, and grounded in real workplace dynamics.
The second, Mindful Momentum: Navigating Procrastination and Overthinking, was inspired by how capable people often get stuck—not from a lack of talent, but due to inner friction like perfectionism or fear. It’s about overcoming mental blocks and building inner strength—something no degree or job title can substitute.

You’ve received several prestigious awards. How does recognition feel at this stage?
It’s humbling. Awards like Asia’s Most Promising Professional Skills Trainer and the British Literary Award 2025 are affirming, but what matters more are the messages I receive—“Your book helped me quit a job I was stuck in,” or “I didn’t feel alone reading about failure.” That’s the kind of impact I aim for. Recognition brings responsibility—to keep doing meaningful work.
You juggle a corporate leadership role with creative writing. How do you balance both?
With purpose and discipline. Writing sharpens my ability to empathize and communicate—essential leadership traits. And my corporate journey gives me stories worth telling. Business and writing both require clarity, observation, and the ability to connect. They complement each other more than people realize.
You’re pursuing a DBA, mentoring students, and speaking at TEDx. Is this a second innings?
Not really. I see it as an evolution of the same journey. Every phase brings new challenges. Right now, I’m focused on merging academia, professional insights, and storytelling to develop future-ready leaders. Mentoring can change lives. Writing can shift perspectives. TEDx reinforced that stories transform faster than data alone.
What moment changed your trajectory completely?
After my MBA, I got an offer in investment banking—unexpected, since I specialized in marketing. But I’d spent time self-learning about stock markets, and the capital markets space just clicked with me. While most peers chose sales, I leaned toward fast-paced financial decision-making. Ironically, I left traditional sales but ended up selling ideas, solutions, and trust in a high-stakes environment. That moment taught me that passion and intuition often know the way before logic does.
What excites you most about the road ahead?
Mentoring and building the next generation of value-driven, emotionally intelligent professionals excites me. I’m also exploring how AI can be integrated with human development. I believe the future belongs to those who combine tech fluency with empathy, ethics, and resilience.
On the writing front, my next book is for teenagers—especially the alpha generation. It’s a collection of culturally rooted stories set in Indian towns and villages, teaching grit, humility, and discipline through relatable characters. Strength doesn’t always roar—it often whispers through determination, kindness, and the courage to begin again.

If you had to give one piece of advice to young professionals trying to find their path, what would it be?
Don’t wait for clarity to act—take action, and clarity will follow. The road appears only once you start walking. Too much thinking can lead to stagnation.
Lastly, how do you want to be remembered?
As someone who made growth less confusing, success more human, and failure less lonely. If my words or work helped even a few people feel seen, that would be enough.
A Compass for the Mentally Stuck — Sushant Rajput’s Mindful Momentum is the Reset We All Need
What if the real struggle isn’t with time management, but with managing our thoughts? And what if procrastination isn’t laziness, but emotional resistance disguised as busyness?
In Mindful Momentum, Sushant Rajput explores the hidden forces that hold us back—perfectionism, fear of judgment, decision fatigue—and offers a way through. Far from a traditional productivity manual, this book blends practical insight, empathetic storytelling, and science-backed techniques to help readers move forward.
Rajput writes like a mentor who’s walked the same mental maze. Instead of lofty promises or motivational clichés, he offers gentle, real-world tools to build momentum, even when your mind resists. Chapters like “The Delay Loop” and “Momentum is a Muscle” help decode the mental traps we fall into and guide us toward intentional progress.
This book especially resonates with mid-career professionals caught in high-functioning paralysis, those performing well outwardly, but internally stuck. Rajput’s corporate background adds credibility, while his human-centered approach bridges the gap between awareness and action.
What makes Mindful Momentum stand out is its tone: compassionate, relatable, and refreshingly honest. It doesn’t glorify hustle. It champions clarity, consistency, and being kind to yourself in the process.
Winner of the International Kalam Award 2025, this book is already striking a chord with readers seeking more than surface-level productivity.
Pick it up if you’ve ever felt stuck without knowing why, bounced between planning and inaction, or lost the joy of simple progress. This isn’t just a book, it’s a mindset shift.
