RV College of Engineering

RVCE is an Autonomous college. Currently, the institution offers 15 Bachelor, 14 Master Programs and 15 departments have Research Centres, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belagavi. The institution has set itself a Vision “Leadership in Quality Technical Education, Interdisciplinary Research & Innovation, With a Focus on Sustainable and Inclusive Technology”. Ranked 89th in the Country by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF: 2022) in Engineering Category, QS-IGUAGE – Diamond University Rating (2021-2024). The institution has to its credit over 1500 National and International Journal publications, filed 52 patents, 45 published patents, 8 granted patents, completed sponsored research and consultancy projects worth Rs. 25.0 crores in the last three years.

The institution has implemented Outcome Based Education (OBE) with a focus on ICT and project-based leaning to enhance critical thinking ability. The institution implemented NEP-2020 from the academic year 2021 and introduced Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC), Universal Human Values (UHV), Indian Knowledge System (IKS), Yoga, in its curriculum for UG courses. The programs are designed with requisite number of foundation courses, advanced courses, SWEBOK, MOOCS, NPTEL, QEEE, industry-based electives and laboratories to facilitate enhancement of competence of the students in all the relevant domains and render them employable, prepare them for higher studies, entrepreneurship, and public service.

As part of the course, RVCE has established knowledge and skill-based training centers such as Centre for Automotive Mechatronics, Bosch Rexroth – RVCE Centre of Competence in Automation, Centre for Automation and Robotics (Digital Manufacturing), Centre for Nano Materials and Devices, Centre for 5G and Emerging Wireless Technologies, Tata Ready Engineer’s program. Some of the skill based labs are Data Visualization Tools, Basic Skills of Engineering, Basic Fabrication and Service, IT Essentials, Data Visualization, Water Testing and Skill Based Lab, Basic Hardware and Service, Networking & UI/UX Design, Electronic Circuits & Electrical Machines, Aerospace Design & Modelling, PCB Design & Testing, Industrial Biotechnology Skill Based Lab, Advances in Computing Hardware, Multi-core to manycore processors, Building Services and Construction, Product Design & Modelling, Networking Essentials, Sewage Treatment Plant, PCB Design & Gadgets Service / Repair, Networking and Media Skills. These skill labs along with OBE will enhance employability to meet 21st century skills.
