Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) Noida, was accorded status of “Deemed to be University” under section 3 of UGC Act 1956 by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 2004. JIIT is a NAAC accredited and AICTE approved institute and has been ranked 94th in the 2021 India Ranking in the Engineering Category by NIRF. JIIT is a multidisciplinary University and is a Centre-of-Excellence for education, training, research, innovations and IPR in the field of IT, CSE, ECE and Biotechnology, Physics, Mathematics, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management.

The Institute presently offers Undergraduate (BTech, BSc, BCA & BBA), Postgraduate (MTech, MBA, MSc) and PhD programs. Two new B Tech programs in emerging technologies have been introduced at JIIT from AY 2023-24, namely; B Tech Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology) and B Tech Electronics and Communication (Advanced Communication Technology).

Students can opt for a minor specialization along with the major specialization in BTech program. Students are awarded Proficiency Certificates in niche areas like AI, IoT, DA, ML, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing etc. Over the years, a number of students have gone for higher studies abroad in renowned universities. At National level, students are getting admissions in some of the premier institutions like IITs, IIMs, IISc etc., for post-graduate studies.

The Institute has a strong academic environment aimed at research with more than 5313 research papers published and has received 110 research grants from various Govt. agencies worth over 23.12 Crores. The Institute has a regular student exchange program with global Universities such as University of Florida at Gainesville, USA.

RIDE- Innovation hub comprising of start-up cabins, student make & learn space, advanced characterisation & Fabrication Laboratory, Computational facility & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory has been established.
