A subtle combination of tradition and elegance
The Classics collection stands as a cornerstone of Frederique Constant’s offerings. Returning to the roots of its iconic “Classics Automatic” line in 2022, the brand introduces two new self-winding Heart Beat models, showcasing the signature dial opening that reveals the balance-wheel—a hallmark of the Maison. These timepieces, with a 40 mm case, boast intricate guilloché detailing and Roman numerals, embodying a classic, timeless aesthetic.
In the world of watchmaking, there’s a prevalent belief that the dial represents the face of a watch. While advancements focus on intricate complications, the essence of a timepiece isn’t solely defined by technical intricacies like rubies or torque but also by the dial. It’s through the dial that a watchmaker’s values and distinct identity are expressed and readily recognized.
It is with this in mind that Frederique Constant is returning to the sources of classicism which, over the centuries, has defined timeless aesthetic ideals. Among them: a guilloché dial, a discreet date window and Breguet-style hands. And delicate Roman numeral indexes. The two variations boast a silver dial and a khaki dial, superimposed by three hands indicating the time via 12 indexes set around a satin-finish hour circle: a prestigious, timeless composition, whose elegance is guaranteed. Each model, worn with a black leather strap, is powered by the automatic FC-303 calibre, offering a power reserve of 38 hours.
The new watches boast a unique “Heart Beat” variant, a design pioneered by Frederique Constant that showcases the watch’s beating heart. This innovative concept, originating in 1994, has been imitated but never replicated with the authenticity found in genuine Frederique Constant timepieces. These Classics Heart Beat Automatic watches pay tribute to the brand’s founding ethos, offering a reimagined design that rightfully earns its place among Geneva’s finest watchmaking classics. Operating on the FC-310 caliber with automatic winding, they feature a 30-hour power reserve.

Founded in 1988 by Aletta and Peter Stas in Geneva, Frederique Constant aimed to democratize luxury Swiss Made watches by offering quality timepieces at affordable prices. Within their 6,200 m2 Manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates (GE), they craft an array of mechanical, quartz, and connected watches, boasting 30 Manufacture calibers, including intricate complications like the Tourbillon, Perpetual Calendar, and the groundbreaking Monolithic escapement—an innovative singlepiece silicone component oscillating at 40 Hz, ten times faster than most mechanical movements.
Their innovation journey started with the 2015 launch of the Horological Smartwatch, the pioneering Swiss Made connected timepiece with a traditional appearance. This was followed by the Classic Hybrid Manufacture in 2018, merging a mechanical Manufacture movement with connected capabilities, and the Smartwatch Vitality line in 2020, featuring an advanced built-in heart rate sensor. In the same year, they revamped the Highlife collection with a redesigned case and interchangeable integrated strap, and in 2021, introduced the Slimline Monolithic Manufacture with an ultra-high-frequency one-piece escapement, along with the Highlife collection for women.
Present in nearly 3,000 points of sale across 120 countries, Frederique Constant, alongside Alpina Watches and Ateliers deMonaco, joined the Japanese Group Citizen in 2016, fostering international growth and innovative collaborations.
