Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC), Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, is approved by AICTE and affiliated with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Established in 1998, the college offers B.Tech programs in twelve disciplines, along with MCA and M.Tech programs in four engineering branches. All five major B.Tech programs are accredited by NBA, and the college holds the distinction of being the only engineering institution under AKTU to be awarded an A++ grade by NAAC.
AKGEC has consistently maintained excellent academic performance, with a large number of its students securing positions in the AKTU merit lists. Notably, AKGEC students have received the AKTU Chancellor’s Medal for best performance across all B.Tech branches for five consecutive years. It is also a matter of pride that the AKTU Distinguished Alumni Award has been conferred upon AKGEC alumni for two successive years. The college is the only institution to have received the Academic Excellence Award for Best Engineering College in UPTU (now AKTU) for two consecutive years from the Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the college has been recognized with the Best Industry-Institute Interface Award by both the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK.
In alignment with the Skill India Mission, the AKGEC Skills Foundation has been established as a funded training partner of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Under this initiative, advanced centres for welding technology and manufacturing have been set up. The college is also recognized under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme of the Uttar Pradesh Government for establishing a Common Facility Centre for engineering goods manufacturing industries in the region.Furthermore, AKGEC has set up a Centre of Excellence in Electric Vehicles and a Drone Academy with a DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO), making it the second engineering institution after IIT Guwahati authorized to issue drone pilot licenses. The college also nurtures innovation and entrepreneurship through its Incubation Centre, supporting startups and fostering a thriving innovation ecosystem.
