AISSMS: Always Striving for Student Growth

The All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society (AISSMS) was established on 19th November 1921. It was founded by the Rajarshi Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaj of Kolhapur to promote the noble cause of making education accessible for people on the grassroots level of society. Today, AISSMS has carved its name on the global education platform. Since its inception, AISSMS has envisioned providing Quality Education to students to shape them into capable citizens of India in the future.

PROSPEROUS CULTURAL HERITAGE

The mission of Shri Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaj of upliftment of society through education has been carried forward by the institution. Creating a legacy of more than 100 years, AISSMS is known to be one of the greatest cultural heritages of Maharashtra. From Preparatory Military School to graduate and PhD education is cherished in the institution while also developing a culture of learning and adaptability to new knowledge and technology. Additionally, all the educational institutions under the umbrella of AISSMS are approved by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The College of Engineering and Institute of Information Technology hosted by AISSMS has completed more than 25 years of cultivating students into professionals. To ensure a world-class education for its students, this leading institution has also formed partnerships with foreign universities.

The AISSMS is pioneering in engineering and technology education through two of its colleges, College of Engineering established in 1992 and Institute of Information Technology founded in 1999.

ESTABLISHMENT OF ENGINEERING COLLEGE

Affiliated with Savitribai Phule University, the AISSMS College of Engineering was established in 1992. This institution was mainly founded with the intention of making modern education accessible to students in India. This college has been accredited with NAAC ‘A’ Grade also while receiving the “Best Professional College” Award in Urban Category by SPPU, Pune. The academic excellence of AISSMS COE has been increasing over the past few years with more than 600 students ranked in the University of Pune while 160 students have ranked in the university in the last three years alone. The college also had the honour of being ranked in the list of Intellectual Capital, Industry Interface and Infrastructure for its research work.

The college hosts Robotics and Automation, Chemical, Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Production Engineering departments. Some of the other achievements of COE include first prize at the Smart India Hackathon organised by the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education by “TEAM QUANTUMGIS ” of the institution.

INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

AISSMS Institute of Information Technology is an AICTE-approved college affiliated with Savitribai Phule University. All the departments of the college, Instrumentation, Information Technology, Computer, Electronics and Telecommunication, and Electrical are accredited by NBA. The college has received ‘A+’ grade in the second re-evaluation of NAAC in the same academic year. The college has also received the status of honour in the field of education from the UGC. NBA-5 UG programs are conducted here. The college ranked 22nd in the placement category and 21st in the research capability category in the Best College Ranking 2022. IOIT also ranks 9th in the list of top 70 private technological institutions by the Times of India survey. The college has ‘The DM Tagare Power Quality Experience Centre’, ‘Forbes Marshall Centre of Excellence ‘, ‘Emerson Centre of Excellence’, and ‘AICTE Modrob – Biomedical Instrumentation Laboratory’ established in the institution to promote learning among students, faculty as well as professionals working in the industry.Besides, Power Quality Cell is also working within the organisation. In the Industry Affiliated Institute of Technology 2020 AICTE-CII survey, (under All India Council for Technical Education Confederation of Indian Industry) the IOIT was grouped under ‘Gold Category-2020’.
