The Recon Jet is an advanced wearable computer for sports and outdoor recreational activities. It comes with various shades of interchangeable lenses that provide full UVA and UVB protection.
On the right lens is an intelligent display that projects an image equivalent to a 30-inch screen viewed from seven feet away. The screen wakes up when you glance at it and switches off when you are looking away, not only optimising its battery life but also minimising distractions.
Behind the screen is a camera that captures photos and videos instantly. The display doubles up as a view- finder, and touching the optical control pad on its right side lets you capture images.
At the heart of the Recon Jet is its powerful engine, with onboard GPS and a comprehensive sensor suite that includes an accelerometer, a gyroscope, an altimeter, a barometer and even a magnetometer. It also pairs with a smartphone over Bluetooth 4.0, and can connect to ANT+ accessories such as cadence speed sensors on your bicycle or a heart rate belt. Once paired with your smartphone, you can get call alerts and SMS notifications, and also access social media.
The Recon Jet balances on your face easily, thanks to its beautiful build and use of flexible material for a highly adjustable ear stem and nose pieces. You can use a micro-USB cable to charge its battery or for programming its display to your preference, downloading map data or transfering the pictures you clicked while on a workout.
The customisable dashboard lets you tailor your experience by displaying the information that matters the most. Having the right information at the right time not only allows you to fine tune your workout by closely tracking target performance levels, but also helps you stay motivated.
Recon Jet uses an app called Recon Engage that lets you build your social network with other users and share or monitor your activity details.
