The K-S2 claims to be the smallest water-proof and rust-proof DSLR camera. Featuring a 20-megapixels AA filter-less APS-C CMOS sensor with a Prime MII image processor, the camera is fast on its heels and also captures great images. A new clarity enhancement feature and advanced HDR mode allow you to capture and reproduce images with higher clarity and texture, even for subjects without distinct contours, such as clouds.
The camera also features a 3-inch 921k-dot Vari Angle LCD that lets you shoot both high and low angles. And when you flip the screen by 180 degrees, the camera activates its selfie mode.
Its SAFOX X sensor features 11 measuring points for auto-focus, of which nine are cross points. With exposure compensation settings of -3 EV to +3EV and ISO sensitivity of 100 to 51,200, you can easily take pictures even when there is literally no light, though a bit of noise does creep in.
The camera can shoot both still photos as well as high definition videos at up to 30 frames per second, and you can even shoot a 1,280×720 HD video at 60 frames per second. There is a built-in stereo microphone too. The camera manages a continuous shooting speed of 5.5 frames per second for up to 30 shots or 9 frames of RAW. The K-S2 saves data on an SD/SDHC/SDXC card and features an onboard USB 2.0 connection to transfer images. Also built in the camera is a Wi-Fi & NFC feature that lets you connect the device to a smartphone and share the pictures directly on social media networks.
The brand-new retractable zoom lens that Pentax bundles with this camera is weather resistant, so you can take your camera to the beach or shoot in the rain without worrying about the camera getting wet.
Its body weighs 678 gm, and comes in full black, white with a green trim, and black with an orange trim colour options.
