The world’s first workstation in an all-in-one format
I love all-in-one machines. They not only save space, they also do away with the mess of cables. They are fantastic, but most all-in-ones still cannot replace workstations, which come in the bulky form of a large tower/processing unit and a separate monitor.
That was till now.
The Z1 is the first all-in-one with a Xeon-class processor. Its 27 inch LED monitor supports more than a billion colours and offers a 178º viewing angle. An HD webcam is integrated into the screen. For storage, you can choose between 7.2k or 10k RPM SATA hard disc drives or SSD storage. This is a machine for the professional who needs to upgrade constantly, so it comes with a toolless chassis that can easily be opened—for swapping graphic cards and the like.
You can choose to run the Z1 with Windows 7 Professional, HP Linux, Suse Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux, depending on your requirements.
It can connect the central server over Gigabit Ethernet, and you can also use 802.11 a/b/g/n for wireless access.
I would have loved to have Bluetooth 4.0 in it, but HP has bundled Bluetooth 2.1 instead. The RAM can be upgraded to 32 GB, and internal storage to 3.2 TB. Not only does the Z1 look cool, it uses power with high efficiency, reducing both overall energy usage and the heat generated. The workstation is also configured to be BFR/PVC-free.
This machine is not for everyone. But if you’ve been waiting for a workstation that fits neatly and looks good on your desk, your wait is over.
