It is that one essential ‘Swiss army knife’ that should not be missing from your home tool kit.
Are you one of those people who are always running about looking for the right tools, because you think you can do a better job than the neighbourhood carpenter? Fret not. Bosch’s Dremel range of tools is now available in India. Dremel is considered the industry leader in rotary tools. These tools are built to last and are also easy to use.
The 300 currently available here comes in two variants: with 25 and 55 accessories. The Dremel 300 is designed to be compact and easy to handle; the shock absorber grip makes sure that the rotating motor does not cause excessive vibrations in your hand. It is powered by a 125 watt motor that can rev up to 35,000 rpm, has multiple attachments and the ability to reach any corner that needs the attention of the artist or the craftsman in you. The 300 has most of the features that make Bosch tools so famous. If you have other Bosch accesories, you can use them with the 300, as it has a hanging loop and a universal collet lock that accepts add-on tools from the Bosch range.
My personal choice is the 55-accessory set, priced at Rs 7,321. The 25-accessory set, Rs 5,625, is primarily for sanding and polishing. The 55-accessory pack contains a variable speed rotary tool, an engraving cutter, a drill bit, a high-speed cutter, a mandrel, bristle brushes, coarse sanding drums, sanding bands, dressing stones, cone polishing tips, emery wheels, carbon steel brush, large felt wheel, grit sanding bands, a silicon carbide grinding stone, aluminium oxide grinding stone, polishing compound, and yes, the carrying case.
