Stylish, graceful and a performer. If you have the money, this your machine.
With a thickness of just 9.99 mm, Dell claims that its Adamo is the thinnest laptop in the world. But it still has a large 13.4 inch screen and a full-size keyboard. A one-touch latch opens the keyboard (which seemed to disappear into the screen) and tilts the laptop like a desktop. Running a 1.4 GHz ultra low voltage (ULV) Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB RAM, it gives you enough processing power.
Designed for luxury buyers, it is one of the best on the Windows platform. The other competing laptop available in this specific market segment is the Apple MacBook Air. Like the Apple, it is made of an etched anodised aluminium chassis. There are no visible stickers or screws, even the Microsoft and Intel logos are etched into a panel on the underside and it includes a backlit keyboard (the first on a non-Apple product). But at 1.8 kg, it is a bit heavier than the MacBook Air. What is sad is that Dell took off the SD card slot, which is becoming commonplace everywhere. I think this is a sacrifice if you want a thinner machine. The Adamo can manage only about 2 hours of battery time. With an extended battery you can add up to about 5 hours, but that also adds weight to your machine.
