Rajpal Yadav finally has the support of the who’s who in the film industry.
The actor-comedian is currently battered by circumstances after surrendering at Tihar Jail on February 5, 2026, to serve a six-month sentence in multiple cheque dishonour cases.
Several prominent celebrities and industry bodies have come forward to extend financial and moral assistance, highlighting solidarity during what many have described as a difficult phase in the actor’s life.
Singer Mika Singh announced a pledge of Rs 11 lakh to support Yadav. In an Instagram post, Mika wrote, “I have one humble request please don't just post announcements. Let's make sure we actually contribute and make it happen.” He later shared a video appeal stressing the importance of transparent and organised assistance.
Joining the effort, singer Guru Randhawa offered Yadav an opportunity to feature in one of his upcoming music videos and confirmed that he had transferred an advance payment. In his Instagram story, Guru wrote, “Lets all Help our senior actor… Will be transferring him advance amount as feature in one of my upcoming videos.”

Actor Sonu Sood also announced his support by offering Yadav a signing amount adjustable against future work. On X, Sood wrote, “Rajpal Yadav is a gifted actor… Sometimes life turns unfair, not because of talent, but because timing can be brutal. He will be part of my film.”
Actor Gurmeet Choudhary echoed similar sentiments, calling the situation “heartbreaking” and urging members of the film fraternity to come together with compassion and humanity to help resolve the matter.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued an appeal to the industry, requesting producers, directors, artists, technicians, and well-wishers to extend moral and financial support. In a statement, the body clarified that contributions could be made directly to Yadav or routed through FWICE, assuring complete transparency in handling funds.
“Members and well-wishers willing to offer monetary assistance may contribute directly… The Federation assures complete transparency,” the release stated.
Rajpal Yadav’s imprisonment follows a Delhi High Court order after he failed to comply with a surrender deadline in connection with the cheque dishonour cases. The matter stems from repeated violations of undertakings regarding the payment of settlement amounts to the complainant company.
During the hearing, Yadav’s counsel said he was ready to deposit Rs 25 lakh immediately and that both parties had tentatively agreed on a repayment schedule for the remaining dues. However, the Court declined to grant relief, observing that Yadav had already been directed to surrender on February 4, 2026.
Justice Sharma noted that the actor would be heard only after handing himself over to jail authorities. Following this observation, Yadav surrendered at Tihar Jail on February 5.
With the actor now serving his sentence, members of the film industry continue to step forward to help him navigate his financial and legal challenges, reflecting a rare display of collective support for a colleague in distress.
