In a case that has sent shockwaves across the national capital, Delhi Police are likely to conduct a psychological analysis of the accused, Rahul Meena, in connection with the brutal rape and murder of a 22-year-old daughter of an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer in South Delhi's Kailash Hills.
The victim, a young IIT Delhi graduate and civil services aspirant preparing for her first UPSC attempt, had been living a disciplined and focused life, with her daily routine centred entirely around her ambition to join the civil services and serve the nation.
Her alleged killer, 23-year-old Rahul Meena, was a former household employee who was intimately familiar with the family's routine.
According to police, Meena had been fired from his job at the upscale Kailash Hills residence two months ago due to his habit of borrowing money from neighbours to fund a gambling addiction.
Despite his dismissal, he returned that morning with a calculated plan. Meena waited for the victim's parents, an IRS officer and a dentist, to leave for their daily gym session.
Knowing the family's security "loophole," he fetched a hidden smart key kept near a shoe rack and entered the fourth-floor apartment at 6:39 am.

CCTV footage later showed him in the locality around 6:30 am and leaving around 7:15 am, meaning he spent roughly 40 minutes inside the premises.
Meena found the victim studying in her room, according to police reports. When he demanded money, she refused and attempted to call her father.
Before she could make that call, Meena strangled her using a charger wire and then attacked her with a lamp on her head. The woman lost consciousness, following which Meena allegedly raped her while she was still alive but out cold.
The postmortem and forensic analysis have corroborated sexual assault, alongside extensive physical injuries.
The suspect allegedly also attempted to use the victim's fingerprints to open the family's locker during a robbery, as part of what investigators describe as a planned series of crimes across states.
Sources told ANI that Delhi Police is likely to conduct a psychological analysis of the accused as part of the ongoing investigation.
The proposed assessment will aim to evaluate his mental state, behavioural patterns, and possible motives behind the crime.
The move comes after the accused reportedly displayed unusual calmness and a lack of remorse during interrogation.
Sources added that the analysis may include clinical evaluation by experts to assess aggression levels, emotional response, and traits linked to conditions such as Antisocial Personality Disorder.
