The autopsy report in the murder of a 22-year-old daughter of an Indian Revenue Service officer in south Delhi’s upscale Kailash Hills has revealed multiple injury patterns indicating a violent physical struggle prior to death.
Dr Sudhir Gupta, Head of Forensic Medicine at AIIMS Delhi, said the external examination showed injuries consistent with resistance offered by the victim.
He further noted injuries on the face, including a fracture of the nasal bone, pointing to blunt force trauma.
"Multiple abrasions were found on the face, along with a fracture of the nasal bone--blunt force impact," Dr Gupta added.
During internal examination, significant findings were reported in the neck region. "On neck dissection--intramuscular haemorrhage was found in the sternocleidomastoid, sternothyroid and sternohyoid muscles," he said.
For further forensic analysis, viscera samples, nail scrapings, and blood samples have been preserved as requested by the investigating officer to assist in determining the exact cause and sequence of events.

Mamata Banerjee faces her toughest battle
According to a PTI report, the accused allegedly raped a woman whose husband he knew in Alwar at night, travelled to Delhi the next morning, entered a house where he had previously worked, and went straight to the rooftop study where he allegedly sexually assaulted and killed the victim.
Police officials said Rahul Meena, a 19-year-old domestic help who had worked with the IRS officer’s family for eight months and was sacked a month ago for financial wrongdoings, carried out back-to-back attacks on two women.
He was arrested on Wednesday and produced before a court on Thursday.
Officials privy to his interrogation said Meena is showing few signs of remorse and has changed his statement repeatedly.
In court, however, he expressed regret. "Mujhse apradh ho gaya... Galti ho gayi (I committed a crime, a mistake)," he told Judicial Magistrate Deepika Thakaran, who allowed the Delhi Police’s plea seeking four days of custodial interrogation.
