148 of 150 Ram Temple Construction Works Completed: Nripendra Misra

As many as 148 of the approximately 150 construction works at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex in Ayodhya have been completed and handed over to the temple trust, with the remaining projects expected to be finished according to their scheduled timelines, Nripendra Misra, chairman of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, said on Thursday.
Misra arrived in Ayodhya for a two-day review meeting to assess pending construction, facade lighting, infrastructure and financial matters. He said the facade lighting at the temple and along the parikrama route was expected to be completed by November 15.
The review comes as the temple complex continues to develop beyond the main shrine, with work covering the surrounding perimeter, visitor facilities, cultural infrastructure and landscaping.

Constitutional legitimacy versus political opportunism
Misra said Larsen & Toubro (L&T), which executed the construction work, was required to hand over completed projects along with records, drawings, designs and financial details. The Trust's project engineers inspect the works before formally accepting them.
FACADE LIGHTING, PERIMETER WORKS DUE BY NOVEMBER 15
One of the key pending projects is the Par Kota, the perimeter complex surrounding the temple. Misra said a rooftop water treatment plant associated with the structure remained incomplete because the work required dry weather and strong sunlight. Recent rainfall in Ayodhya had slowed progress, he said, expressing confidence that the work would be completed by November 15.
The facade lighting at the temple and along the parikrama route is also scheduled for completion by the same date. Misra said efforts were underway to ensure the complex had an elaborate lighting display for the upcoming Diwali celebrations.
RAM KATHA MUSEUM, OTHER PROJECTS UNDER REVIEW
The two-day review also covers projects outside the main temple complex, including the auditorium and the Ram Katha Museum. Misra described the museum as a major project and said its construction was in the final stages.
The Martyrs' Memorial has been completed, although landscaping and horticultural work in the surrounding garden is still underway. The Madhvacharya Dwar, another project being developed as part of the broader complex, is around 80 per cent complete, Misra said.
The review is intended to assess outstanding work, address delays and ensure that completed projects are formally handed over to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
AYODHYA TEMPLE COMPLEX CONTINUES TO EXPAND
The Ram Temple, dedicated to Lord Ram, was consecrated in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, in a ceremony led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Construction and development work has continued around the main shrine, with the wider complex incorporating additional structures and facilities.
The latest review focuses on completing the remaining works and associated infrastructure, while ensuring that construction records, inspections and financial documentation are finalised before formal handover.
