A Passing Face
Art Nouveau
The renowned French designer Matali Crasset

My moveable art installation of choice at the India Art Fair (IAF) 2018 was the renowned French designer Matali Crasset. The 52-year-old industrial designer easily caught my attention even in the swish crowd at IAF with her flaming orange factory overalls beneath a classic black trench coat. She is seldom seen without her signature frames, and this time too her geometric white frames accentuated her short crop. Crasset was in India to conduct a workshop at National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, for students of product and furniture design as part of ‘Bonjour India Campus Art’.
