Stargazer: Shanaya Kapoor, Kritika Kamra and Ruby Bhatia

Shanaya Kapoor didn’t have the best Bollywood debut but the actress is now betting big on the upcoming ‘Tu Yaa Main’, directed by Bejoy Nambiar and co-starring Adarsh Gourav. Kapoor plays a part that doesn’t seem to be too implausible at first. She enacts an uppity social media influencer who decides to collaborate with another influencer from downtown. There is a problem though in this movie, which is less a love story and more a survival thriller. A crocodile threatens to tear the pair limb-from-limb while overshadowing them in the swimming pool they are trapped in.

Kritika Kamra was lovely as the eldest, much put-upon sibling in Anusha Rizvi’s gentle The Great Shamsuddin Family, which said so much about what it is like being Muslim in India today. Kamra is all set to marry Gaurav Kapur who has made television his home for the past two decades. Apart from show business, the couple has Delhi in common. Both grew up and studied in the capital.

There was a time when Indian- Canadian Ruby Bhatia was everyone’s favourite veejay. The Channel V star was bubbly and funny, and also even appeared as herself in a few movies. Then MTV and Channel V stopped being cool and Bhatia seemed to have fallen off the map. We’re happy to report that she is now a life coach living in Lokhandwala, Mumbai, dispensing advice for ₹1,000 a call.
