Daughter of actor Raveena Tandon and key film distributor Anil Thadani, Rasha Thadani will be seen opposite Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni, who is the son of Mahesh Babu’s late elder brother, the actor-producer Ramesh Babu, and the grandson of the legendary Telugu cinema icon Krishna. The film, ‘Srinivasa Mangapuram’, also marks Jaya Krishna’s debut.
Venice Bound
Born in Chile, educated in New York and now based in London, Indian-origin filmmaker Shalini Adnani’s new movie will premiere at the Venice Film Festival. ‘Our Share of Sand’, which will debut in the Critics’ Week segment, narrates the story of a 12-year-old girl who returns to rural India to reconnect with her estranged father. The film stars Maya Mehta, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Jyoti Dogra. Adnani is a Berlinale Talents programme alumnus and one of the Stars of Tomorrow 2025 for Screen International.
Career Shift
Vikram Phadnis has worn many hats—he was a choreographer, then a fashion designer, and finally went on to direct two Marathi films. Now his first Hindi directorial is due for release. Titled ‘Pal Bhar Ke Liye’, the film stars Saiyami Kher, Vineet Kumar Singh and Tahir Raj Bhasin. With a stellar cast like that, it is difficult to go wrong.
