She was last seen in season three of The Family Man. Now, Nimrat Kaur will be seen in ‘Job Trafficking’ for Prime Video, currently being shot. The series that will plunge the viewers into the dark heart of industrialised online scams examines “pig butchering”, where perpetrators spend weeks, sometimes months, building trust and false intimacy with their victims online before draining them of everything. But what the world rarely sees is the other side: the young people behind the keyboards, lured by fake job offers, trafficked across borders, and forced to become the very scammers destroying innocent lives. It’s a survival drama also stars Roshan Mathew, Pavan Malhotra and Kavya Trehan.
Cheeta and Sumo
SlowCheeta, so memorable in 2019’s iconic Gully Boy, returns to the big screen with Sumo Didi. The actor/rapper whose real name is Chaitnya Sharma, is starring in Zee5’s Sumo Didi, a biopic based on the life of India’s sumo wrestler Hetal Dave. Most of it was shot in Japan where sumo wrestling is a much loved sport.
Dance Drama
Priyanka Kedia will be seen in ‘Best of the Best’, Netflix’s version of a Bollywood dance-off with Maitreyi Ramakrishnan of Never Have I Ever, directed by Lena Khan. Kedia was last seen in Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day as Grace Zhao. ‘Best of the Best’ has been written by comedian Hasan Minhaj and Prashanth Venkataramanujam.
