Right after playing a troubled serial killer in Mrs. Deshpande on JioHotstar, she now enacts a mom with a very active libido in the upcoming dark comedy ‘Maa Behen’ on Netflix, much to the horror of her uptight daughter (Triptii Dimri). Good to see our Nineties heroines are ageing more gracefully than our Nineties heroes, with roles to match.
Madhoo Shah was the national crush after Mani Ratnam’s Roja (1992), only to virtually disappear from the screen. Now she is back with a bang, after being spotted at various society events for years and in a few roles on TV and in films. Shah will be in Hansal Mehta’s ‘Family Business’, soon to be aired on Netflix. The show is rumoured to be based on the tussle between Ratan Tata and Cyrus Mistry.

Fans of Paatal Lok will know Nikita Grover as the genial Constable Manju Verma but she is also a fine casting director. Now she is proud to be the force behind the cast of Season 2 of Netflix’s Kohrra. The job has its perks. When Grover was scouring Nagaland for actors for Paatal Lok Season 2, she stayed for six months, knocking on every door, asking if anyone wanted to act. As she says proudly, everyone in Kohima and Dimapur knows who she is.
