What happens when one misdelivered lunchbox changes everything? That is the question at the heart of The Lunchbox, Ritesh Batra’s beloved 2013 film starring the late Irrfan Khan. It is now a musical at the Berkeley Rep starring Kuhoo Verma in Nimrat Kaur’s role of a lonely homemaker and Manu Narayan in the role immortalised by Irrfan, the socially isolated Saajan. The musical is directed by Rachel Chavkin, and is expected to run till June 28.
If you’ve not had enough of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, there’s good news. The behind-the-scenes making of the two-part film is now going to be a movie in itself and will be released in theatres early next year. It will feature interviews with the stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, as well as Dhar. This might explain the continued secrecy around the blockbuster.
