Simone Ashley's stellar performance in This Tempting Madness

Simone Ashley is on a roll with a stellar performance as a woman haunted by her past in the newly released This Tempting Madness, directed by Jennifer E Montgomery. Suraj Sharma of Life of Pi is a co-star. Ashley, who became a star with Netflix’s bodice-ripping Bridgerton, is also gearing up for the release of ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’.

Anoushka Shankar, a British musician and the daughter of Pandit Ravi Shankar, has won two Grammy nominations this year. She has received them for her single ‘Daybreak’ for Best Global Music Performance and her latest album Chapter III: We Return to Light, along with Alam Khan and drummer Sarathy Korwar, for Best Global Music Album. The genes are alive and kicking. She is set to tour India from January.

She stunned the world with her perfor­mance as Chandan’s radical mother in Homebound but Shalini Vatsa is also a well-known theatre practitioner and pro­ducer. Her latest production with husband Himanshu Tyagi recreates Prabhat Ranjan’s book Hindi Medium Tight for the stage. The book is about Ranjan’s days in Hindu College, negotiating the hier­archies of language. The play, which opens this weekend, will be presented by Anurag Kashyap and directed by Bijesh Jayarajan.
