Saumya Tandon didn’t have too many scenes in Dhurandhar, which was dominated by men in beards and floppy hair, but she has left quite an impression as the empowered wife of Rehman Dakait, the Baloch gang leader played by Akshaye Khanna. As the grieving mother of a grown- up son and the angry wife of a wanted man, she plays her part well. Before this, Tandon was best known for her portrayal of Anita Vibhiti Mishra in the short lived TV show Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain.
It is rare for two writers to stay the course for four seasons of a show. But Devika Bhagat and Ishita Moitra have been writing Prime Video’s Four More Shots Please! since its beginning in 2017. Now the show is ending, they feel they’ve moved the needle when it comes to how women are portrayed, as their true selves, with all their flaws. “We didn’t want to show men as the enemy. We see men as victims of patriarchy too,” say Bhagat and Moitra. The fourth season sees the women grow, just as the writers have evolved. “They’ve grown up, so have we,” they add.
