Happy Patel is a ballet dancing, sandwich-making Indian with two dads who is trying to become an MI7 agent. He is a spectacular failure at it until it is decided that he has to rescue a scientist tasked with the formula for a fairness cream which will destroy their business for good.

At the head of this operation to create the ultimate fairness cream is the dreaded M who also goes by the name of Mama (there is a joke embedded there which is typically Vir Das). Mama loves to feed her enemies deadly cutlets and wants to end Happy Patel’s life even before it begins. There are cameos from Imran Khan, Kunal Roy Kapoor and Aamir Khan and clearly the intent is to remind us of the zaniness of Delhi Belly. But that was 2011, a different time and a different country. We desperately need a few good laughs in this age of doom and gloom but sadly Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos doesn’t provide enough of them.
