Mardaani 3: Police Rani Strikes Back

She’s angry, she’s focused, and given to talking back to those who think they can torment her. Rani Mukerji is not the first person one would think of to play a hard-nosed police officer but she transforms herself yet again with a powerful walk, straight spine, and unwav­ering gaze.

This is the third time she is playing ACP Shivani Shivaji Roy. She was the hero of Mardaani in 2014, and Mardaani 2 in 2019. Roy is now in Delhi at the National Investigation Agency, and we already fear for her potential enemies. But the story of missing girls, a heinous female villain, and an unimaginably widespread network is all too familiar in the wake of Delhi Crime Season 3.
