There is considerable hype around Kartik Aaryan and his current status as a ‘lover boy’. This is emphasised by nudge-nudge, wink-wink stories about his dating history which is said to include high-profile actors such as Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor and the latest, Sreeleela. While link ups have been used for publicity in cinema since the Hollywood studio system, Kartik has been playing the part of a playboy with well timed paparazzi shots and social media teaser posts.

That was until an eagle-eyed social media user found out that his beach date was, shall we say, inappropriate and a little young. What’s more, none of this helped the box office collection of Kartik’s latest film, the tongue twisting Tu Mera Main Teri Main Tera Tu Meri. Not all the relentless PR in this world can help a film to survive audience disinterest.
