15 Police Teams Probe Firing at Tiger Shroff’s Car; Film Industry Demands Action

Mumbai Police have formed 15 teams to investigate the firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s car on Sunday evening, as the attack triggered concern across the film industry and demands for stronger protection.
Shroff escaped unhurt, while two people, including his driver, were injured. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to the actor and directed the Mumbai Police Commissioner to conduct a swift investigation and take strict action.
“We are all with you. We will trace and apprehend the accused at the earliest,” Fadnavis told Shroff, according to Chief Minister’s Office sources.
Police said three to four rounds were fired at the actor’s vehicle as he was leaving a ground after a private event in the Juhu police station area. A large crowd had gathered to see him, and the shots were fired from within the crowd.

ACTOR SAFE, TWO INJURED
Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohit Garg placed the incident at around 7 pm and confirmed that Shroff had not sustained any gunshot injuries.
“Some unknown individuals arrived at the scene and opened fire on Mr Tiger Shroff as he was leaving after concluding a private event. Tiger Shroff did not sustain any gunshot injuries; he is completely safe,” Garg said.
The actor’s driver sustained an injury to his arm and was out of danger, police said. The second injured person, identified by Garg as Mr Chauhan, was undergoing treatment.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation separately said a 35-year-old man who had been covering a football match featuring Shroff arrived at Cooper Hospital at 7.10 pm with a gunshot wound to his chest. His condition was stable.
Garg said several police branches were involved in the investigation and a forensic team had conducted a preliminary examination.
‘BOLLYWOOD NEEDS REAL PROTECTION’
The All Indian Cine Workers Association expressed shock over the attack and called for the arrest of both the shooters and those who ordered the firing.
“Statements are not enough. Bollywood needs real protection,” the association said.
It urged Fadnavis to act against those behind the attack, dismantle extortion networks and provide adequate security to film personalities and their families.
“Today it is Tiger Shroff. Who is next? When a celebrity is not safe in the heart of Mumbai, how can an ordinary Mumbaikar feel safe?” the association asked.
Citing earlier attacks and threats involving film personalities, it alleged that repeated incidents were creating an atmosphere of fear.
“Mumbai will not be allowed to go back to the underworld days of the 1990s. Bollywood will not work in the shadow of fear,” it said.
FILM PERSONALITIES EXPRESS ALARM
Actor Ranvir Shorey condemned the firing and urged police to act firmly against those responsible.
“Shocking, and disgusting! Hope everyone is safe, @iTIGERSHROFF @bindasbhidu! No mercy for the perpetrators, @MumbaiPolice! This is outrageous!” he wrote on X.
Filmmaker Rahul Dholakia also questioned the law-and-order situation and demanded accountability, while actor Poonam Pandey described the incident as frightening.
“I am still struggling to process this. We were just at a Durga pandal when this news suddenly came to my attention,” Pandey told ANI.
“Over the last few years, we have repeatedly heard such news. Someone breaks into an actor's home, as happened with Saif Ali Khan, or Salman Khan receives threats...It is frightening. It is truly terrifying,” she said.
‘NO GANG WILL BE SPARED’
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said he had spoken to Shroff and the Mumbai Police Commissioner, and that teams were working to trace the attackers.
“Tiger Shroff’s vehicle was targeted. This incident is deeply concerning and condemnable; I condemn it in the strongest possible terms,” Shinde said.
“Whether it is a celebrity or an ordinary citizen, ensuring their safety is the responsibility of the police and the government, and there will be no negligence in this regard. No gang will be spared; we will not let them get away with this.”
