With her, no outcome could be final. The story of a Bangladeshi girl who battles familial mores to follow her heart.
Every Good Marriage Begins With Tears is a deeply moving, tender, laugh-out-loud account of two feisty and rebellious London Bangladeshi sisters who go “back home” against their will for arranged marriages. Through intimate footage of the most personal moments, the film explores the universal theme of love and generational conflict between the daughters’ ideas and their parents. It dispels myths about Islam’s treatment of women and puts a human face on the communities lately being targeted as a result of the terrorist attacks on the West.
