SHOULD BRITISH PRIME MINISTER Sir Keir Starmer be in prison? Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, thinks so. What has Sir Keir done to annoy the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and X?
Between 2008 and 2013, Sir Keir was head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) which prosecutes criminal cases following investigations by the police in England and Wales. A human rights lawyer, Sir Keir was knighted in 2014 shortly after his term as head of CPS had ended. In 2015, Sir Keir became a first-time Labour MP.
Why does Musk, one of the closest advisers of US President-elect Donald Trump, want Sir Keir jailed? Between 1997 and 2013, British police investigated serial rape and torture charges against “grooming gangs” in Rotherham, Oldham and other towns in northern England. The grooming gangs were largely made up of British-Pakistani men. They preyed on vulnerable English girls, some as young as 12.
The girls were kidnapped, tortured and gang-raped. The police arrested several British- Pakistanis. Most, however, were let off. In many cases, the female victims and their parents were instead accused by the police and local politicians of creating a climate of Islamophobia.
When Sir Keir took over as head of CPS in 2008, the rape of young white girls across northern England by gangs of British-Pakistani men was becoming a national scandal. Labour was in power. Keir Starmer and CPS told Prime Minister Gordown Brown that punishing the rapists would harm race relations in Britain.
A furious Musk posted on X: “Keir Starmer is complicit in these crimes. Starmer must go. He is a national embarrassment. Prison for Keir Starmer.” Musk followed it up with this: “America should liberate the people of Britain from their tyrannical governments.”
Several British constituencies have Muslim voters who can swing an election. Britain has 220 swing seats where the difference between Labour and Tory vote shares is marginal. Muslim votes can determine the outcome of 129 seats in the House of Commons

Musk’s attack on Starmer has refocused attention on what journalist Bari Weiss said in her recent post: “Britain now stands shamed before the world. The scandal is already reshaping British politics. It’s not just about the heinous nature of the crimes. It’s that every level of the British system is implicated in the cover-up. Social workers were intimidated into silence. Local police ignored, excused, and even abetted paedophile rapists across dozens of cities. Senior police and Home Office officials deliberately avoided action.”
Politico explained how the cover-up began: “A 2014 state-commissioned report by senior social worker Alexis Jay found that some 1,400 vulnerable children were targeted and sexually abused in the northern English town of Rotherham between 1997 and 2013. Jay blasted ‘collective failures’ in the care system and said local authorities had failed to confront Pakistani heritage perpetrators of the abuse, in part because some staff feared being labelled racist.”
The previous Conservative government held a seven-year inquiry into the rape gang scandal. The inquiry made 20 recommendations in 2022. These included compensation for sexual abuse victims. Neither government— Conservative and Labour—has implemented the recommendations.
What does the evidence say about the ethnicity of members of these rape gangs? According to BBC, “In her independent review of the Rotherham case, published in 2014, Prof Alexis Jay concluded that the majority of ‘known perpetrators were of Pakistani heritage, including five men convicted in 2010. Greater Manchester Police identified the men convicted at the trial in the Rochdale abuse scandal in February 2012 as British-Pakistani’.”
Why do British politicians protect British-Pakistani rape gangs? Several British constituencies have Muslim voters who can swing an election. According to a new think-tank report, Britain has 220 swing seats where the difference between Labour and Conservative vote shares is marginal. Of these 220 seats, Muslim votes can determine the outcome of 129 seats in the 650-seat House of Commons.
British governments nurture this Muslim vote bank at the cost of exposing their most vulnerable citizens—underage white girls— to horrific sexual abuse by British-Pakistani rape gangs.
