Ana De Armas In From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina | Director: Len Wiseman | Cast: Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston | English
WHAT IF BABA Yaga had a Baby Yaga? Well, Ballerina is John Wick’s spiritual successor born of the need to extend a moneymaking franchise, and keep an iconic character alive. So instead of a prequel or sequel, we have a midquel, which allows John Wick to meet Eve Macarro, a ballerina. Praise be the ingenuity of AI or Hollywood scriptwriters, or whoever wrote the screenplay. But that means John Wick is angry and the ballerina is angrier. Ana de Armas has been puttering around in big and small screen factory-made movies but none have had much impact except in Blonde (2022) as the broken Marilyn Monroe. She kicks, shoots, and hacks her way like a hyperactive Eve from the show, Killing Eve, but with none of her taste for luxury or inclination towards naughtiness. This Eve is a single-minded trained assassin and killing machine. What drives her? Revenge, of course. If the ballerina bust-ups are your poison, this is a movie for you.
